Taylor Wapshott Girolamo, MD

Taylor Girolamo, MD, earned her medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville, followed by a residency in neurosurgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans. She then completed a fellowship in neurocritical care at LSU New Orleans. She specializes in general neurosurgery and neurocritical care, offering surgical treatment and non-surgical expertise for a wide variety of conditions including traumatic brain/spine injuries, degenerative spine conditions, brain tumors and peripheral nerve entrapments. She has experience in both open and minimally invasive approaches to the spine, tailoring treatments to the specific needs and pathology of each patient. She believes in partnering with the patient and their family, giving them all the knowledge and information that they need about their disease process or diagnosis so that they can make a well-informed decision about whether surgery is the right decision for them. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, the outdoors, reading and travel.
