Shelly Deanne Brigman, MD

Dr. Shelley Brigman is a developmental pediatrician at Prisma Health with more than two decades of experience in developmental and behavioral pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and pursued specialized fellowship training in developmental pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Brigman focuses on understanding how children grow, learn, and develop—particularly in areas such as language, social skills, and behavior. She works closely with families to evaluate developmental concerns, including delays in speech, mobility, or social interaction, and helps guide children toward reaching their full potential.

Her care philosophy centers on partnering with families—parents, grandparents, and caregivers alike—to support each child’s unique developmental journey. She emphasizes clear communication, thoughtful diagnosis, and ongoing support, recognizing that families often need time, resources, and follow-up to fully understand and navigate their child’s needs.

By combining clinical expertise with compassion and education, Dr. Brigman strives to empower families and help every child thrive.

Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, including gardening and kayaking, as well as being with her children and grandchildren.
