Shawna Diann Bellew, MD

Dr. Shawna Bellew attended the University of Central Florida for undergraduate and medical school, where as part of the charter class of the University of Central Florida College of Medicine she was awarded a scholarship that covered full tuition and living expenses. She completed residency in Emergency Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota in 2016 after serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Bellew went on to complete a research and quality improvement fellowship, earning a Masters in Public Health at Vanderbilt University while serving as a clinical instructor at Vanderbilt Department of Emergency Medicine and completing a 2 year tenure as a Veterans Affairs Quality Scholar at the VA in Nashville, TN. Her research interests focus on quality improvement, diagnostic test utilization, shared decision making, educational multimedia, and opioid use in the emergency department. She is currently a peer reviewer for the Annals of Emergency Medicine, a clinician with Prisma Health, and a clinical instructor at the University of South Carolina College of Medicine Greenville.
