Roy H Smith, FNP

Roy Hampton Smith, NP, is a board-certified critical care family nurse practitioner with Prisma Health Cardiology in Columbia, South Carolina. He joined Columbia Heart clinic in 2012 and has been employed with Prisma Health since 2015.

A nurse since 2000, Smith received a bachelor's degree in biology from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina, in 1998 and completed his bachelor's in nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2000. He received his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia in 2007 and is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Smith enjoys working with his patients and their families to maximize their health outcomes and to minimize the effects their diseases have on their lives. He firmly believes that engaging his patients to have an active part in the decisions affecting their healthcare results in measurable improvements in safety and quality. Most importantly, he believes that each patient is a unique individual who deserves unconditional and compassionate care. Our patients are like family to us, and we treat them accordingly.

In his spare time, Smith enjoys watching movies, painting at Studio Cellar, working in his flower garden at home and spending time with family and friends. He enjoys interacting with his patients and loves being part of the caring and hardworking team of providers at Prisma Health.
