Richard L Frierson, MD

Richard L. Frierson, MD, received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed his psychiatric residency and a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute, also in Columbia.

Dr. Frierson has held several national leadership positions in forensic psychiatry. He has authored or co-authored two major textbooks and dozens of peer-reviewed articles or chapters and is board certified in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He is currently the Alexander G. Donald Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at USC School of Medicine and director of the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship.
