Prexa Naik, MD, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in biology and received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. After her internship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, she completed a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in geriatrics at Prisma Health–Midlands/University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia.
Dr. Naik is board certified in family medicine with added qualifications in geriatrics, hospice and palliative medicine. She first joined Senior Primary Care Practice in 2012, providing primary care services for older adults. With a passion for caring for those with dementia, she spent a year at MemoryCare, a memory clinic in Asheville, North Carolina, before returning to Palmetto Health Senior Primary Care in 2016. Since returning, she continues to provide primary care services for patients 65 years and older, but also brings her knowledge of diagnosing and treating patients with cognitive disorders, including support of their caregivers, to the Senior Primary Care Memory Clinic.
