Molly Elizabeth Bute, OD

Dr. Molly Bute is an optometrist with the ophthalmology department at Prisma Health. She completed her undergraduate education at a private college in Illinois before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in Indiana. She then pursued residency training in ocular disease at the VA hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, where she gained advanced clinical experience in managing complex eye conditions.

Her clinical expertise includes comprehensive eye care as well as the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as diabetes-related eye conditions, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Bute also has specialized training in fitting specialty contact lenses, including scleral and rigid gas permeable lenses. She emphasizes clear, honest communication to help patients understand their eye health and treatment options, fostering an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions and participating in their care.

Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors with her dog, and playing pickleball with friends.
