Dr. Michael Knipfing is a neuroradiologist with Prisma Health. Originally from Florida, he met his wife in second grade and they have been together since high school. After training in Charleston for six years, he relocated to South Carolina’s Upstate, where he continues to practice. He and his wife have three young children and plan to remain in the region.
Dr. Knipfing specializes in neuroradiology, with clinical expertise focused on complex imaging of the brain, neck, and spine. His work involves interpreting detailed and highly intricate anatomy to support the diagnosis and management of neurologic conditions. He is particularly drawn to the complexity of his specialty and the opportunity each case provides to help guide patient care through precise imaging interpretation.
He maintains an accessible, collaborative approach to practice and values close communication with referring clinicians to ensure imaging findings directly support patient management.
Outside of work, Dr. Knipfing enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through sports-related activities.
