Marianna Evelyn Pretulak, ACNP

Anna Pretulak, ACNP-BC, is a cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac device nurse practitioner with Prisma Health Carolina Cardiology in Greenville, South Carolina. Originally from the Orangeburg and St. Matthews area, she attended Converse College and completed her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in business. Wanting to pursue a career in healthcare, she obtained a bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN) from the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

While obtaining her BSN, Pretulak volunteered at the free medical clinic and worked as a VA Learning Opportunities Residency (VALOR) student at the Dorn VA hospital. After sitting for her nursing boards, she took her first nursing job as a coronary care nurse at the Dorn VA.

While working as an intensive care nurse on nights and weekends, she obtained her master’s degree in nursing. After receiving her board certifification as an acute care nurse practitioner, Pretulak joined the trauma and general surgery team at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. After an exciting and educational 18 months, she wanted to return to her love of cardiac nursing and joined Carolina Cardiology, where she currently resides as part of the cardiac device team.

Pretulak helps to manage patients with pacemakers, loop records and defibrillators. She uses remote cardiac device monitoring to allow prompt identification of new diagnoses with early intervention, which allows for improved outcomes for patients. She enjoys patient-centered care – listening to a patient’s needs, educating on disease process, and collaborating with them, their family and other physicians to provide the best care.

In her spare time, Anna enjoys group fitness, dancing, traveling, hiking, watching her children play sports and spending time with her husband, two children, family and friends.
