LaDonna Young, MD

L. Alex Young, MD, is a child abuse pediatrician with Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. She received her medical degree and completed her general pediatrics residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She then completed a fellowship in child abuse pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, where she was a member of the hospital’s Mortality Review Committee. Dr. Young also participated in the Centers for Disease Control’s Sudden Death in the Young project, where cases of SIDS and SUIDS were reviewed for the development of a surveillance registry. She has an interest in community outreach and health education.
