Kristen Jeffers Matthews, FNP

Kristen Matthews, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner working in both maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She sees patients with high-risk pregnancies, whether maternal or fetal concerns, as well as managing gynecologic conditions.

Matthews received her undergraduate nursing degree at Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina, and her master's degree at South University. She is passionate about advocating for her patients to receive the best care, presenting information in layman's terms to ensure understanding, and supporting pregnant mothers through a stressful yet exciting time in their lives.

In gynecology, Matthews enjoys caring for women throughout their lifespans; from contraception to family planning and pregnancy to menopause. The best part of her job is providing inclusive care to patients of all socioeconomic backgrounds and managing complex medical conditions. When she is not working, she enjoys cruising the lake with her family, shopping or getting lost in a romance novel.
