Jeffery Reuben Black, MD

Dr. Jeff Black is a psychiatrist at Prisma Health with comprehensive training in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Furman University, completed graduate studies in theology and philosophy, and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He went on to complete his residency in adult psychiatry, followed by a fellowship in child, adolescent, and family psychiatry at the same institution.

Dr. Black brings extensive clinical experience, including more than 15 years in private practice and additional service with the Defense Health Agency. His expertise spans a wide range of mental health conditions, with an emphasis on the interconnectedness of mental, physical, and emotional health. He incorporates a holistic, integrative approach to care, addressing biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of well-being. He is committed to helping patients take an active role in their health and fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships grounded in trust and understanding.

Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, hiking, wood carving, meditation, and studying holistic health practices.
