Emily Langstaff Merrell, FNP

Emily Merrell, FNP-BC, is a cardiac electrophysiology nurse practitioner at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina. Originally from Hartsville, Merrell attended Clemson University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences with a concentration in public health. She then went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

After earning her nursing degree, Merrell began her career as a cardiac nurse. She continued to work as a nurse while earning her master’s degree in family nurse practitioner studies, also from the Medical University of South Carolina. Upon graduation, Merrell joined Prisma Health.

Merrell values the opportunity to work in the ever-changing world of electrophysiology. With her public health background, she particularly enjoys educating patients on their disease process and helping patients become active participants in their plan of care.

In her spare time, Merrell enjoys running, traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family. She also values the time she is able to volunteer at her children’s school as well as Meals on Wheels.
