Derek Allen Dubay, MD, is a Transplant Surgeon at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dr. Dubay’s special interests include liver, pancreas and kidney transplant. He also specializes in liver and bile duct operations for cancer and other benign diseases.
Dubay received his medical degree from the University of Iowa/Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, IA.
Following medical school, he completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI. He then completed fellowships in surgical oncology and solid organ transplant at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Dubay is an American Cancer Society Fellow and is board certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

Just a comment that the food that is provided after, I've had two different surgeries in the last few months, and the food, I'm sorry, I know they work hard, but it is horrible. It is not nutritious, they offered. It's just high carb and sugar. There's nothing healthy, really, that's offered. I would have loved to have had an avocado cup. If anything, that was towards more of what I'm used to as far as just things that are healthy for my body. Anyway, I would have appreciated that so much. Instead, I had to have people bring stuff into me because there literally just wasn't anything to pick from, just sugar and carbs. Thank you.
