Ana Gowani, MD is a board-certified rheumatologist specializing in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. Originally from Virginia, she earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She went on to pursue fellowship training in rheumatology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Gowani’s clinical interests include the comprehensive care of patients with inflammatory arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis or psoriatic arthritis, systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis and the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. She is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Outside of work, Dr. Gowani enjoys exploring Greenville's food scene and enjoying the outdoors. She loves taking new hikes with her family or going on long runs with her dog, Luna.

Dr. Gowani gave me a through exam from head to toe. Asked lots of questions and answered even more. Espeically concerning all the blood work I had done. She went over all my medications and eliminated 2. The over all visit was excellent and I came out of the office well pleased and informed concerning my health issues.

This visit to this office was one of the best medical experiences I've had with Prisma. This doctor was great. She explained so much to me, took time to listen, did a test for me, not really related to rheumatology, but an issue that I was having with something else. She did the test and the blood work and was going to send it to my primary doctor. I thought this doctor was absolutely fantastic. Kudos to her and her nurse. Her nurse was real nice as well. I would definitely recommend this doctor.
