Amy Nicole Hildreth, MD

Amy Hildreth, MD, is department chair of surgery at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. A native of Columbia, she received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia and then completed her residency and surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga.

Dr. Hildreth joined the faculty of Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, rising to the rank of professor of surgery. She held a number of leadership roles at Wake Forest, including third-year medical student clerkship director, associate chair of education, and surgery residency program director. She served as chair of the North Carolina chapter of the American College of Surgeons from 2021-2022. She is nationally recognized for her expertise in surgical care of trauma and for surgical education.
