Sara Infield Lavelle, MD

Sara Infield Lavelle, MD, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with Prisma Health, known by many of her patients as Dr. Infield. She is a native South Carolinian and Clemson graduate, who received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine before returning to the Upstate for psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training with Prisma Health. She is board certified in adult psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. Infield enjoys working in the outpatient setting, both as an outpatient child psychiatrist and as a consultant for pediatric primary care through collaborative care and one-on-one consultation models. Her favorite part of child psychiatry is aiding in re-establishing strong interpersonal connections between the child and their caregiver. She enjoys working with children with a myriad of psychiatric diagnoses, including anxiety disorder, mood disorders, OCD and PTSD, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and autism. She loves to take a “whole brain” approach to psychiatric treatment, reinforcing regulation skills from early development and understanding the intricacies of each child without feeling the need to fit them into a single diagnostic box.

When not working, Dr. Infield enjoys exploring the many Greenville parks with her family and watching her favorite football teams.
